1. Get Very Good at What You Do

Figuring out how to become a sponsored athlete is all about excelling at what you do and making sure as many people know it as possible. For example, you could compete and win several parkour competitions in your neighborhood. Afterward, you could showcase your skills, free of charge, in your home area or other competitions around you.

The idea here is to create a name for yourself that impresses potential sponsors. You need to become well-known in the parkour community before trying to figure out how to become a sponsored athlete. This step is crucial and requires a lot of hard work, practice, and some connections.

2. Start Networking

Don’t be afraid to talk to other people in the parkour community. These individuals are usually quite friendly and willing to talk to you about any number of things. In many instances, you may just hear some chitter chatter or learn gossip about the community. However, you may also catch the ear of someone who knows parkour sponsors.

As a result, you can spread your name to these people and ingratiate yourself with them. Even if you don’t meet people who know sponsors, spreading your name helps make you an integrated part of the parkour community. Name recognition is tremendous when it comes to becoming a sponsored athlete and will help you stand out from your peers.

3. Research Parkour Sponsors

The trickiest step of learning how to become a sponsored athlete is knowing the various sponsors. There are quite a few in the parkour community, including WFPF, MUV Magazine, Red Bull, and many others. Simply Googling “parkour sponsors” will give you quite an extensive list of companies that are looking for high-quality athletes.

Check into any competitions that these companies are hosting and sign up for them right away. There’s no better way to make an impression on a sponsor than literally excelling at one of their events. If you can win this kind of competition, there is a strong chance that the reward may be a sponsorship. Even if it isn’t, you have captured their attention in a big way.

4. Know What Sponsors Want

Anybody who wants to sponsor a parkour athlete is looking for someone who knows their passion by heart. This fact means that they are skilled not only in their sport but know the products that they are sponsoring. For example, if you are really into a certain type of parkour clothing and want that company to sponsor you, regularly wearing their clothes will leave them a good impression.

That’s because you are showing loyalty to their brand that they will much appreciate. Just as importantly, you are showing a willingness to invest in their brand that they will reward you for if they sponsor you. Make sure to only look for sponsors who you believe in. This helps to eliminate any confusion or possible ethical conflicts.

5. Start Reaching out

Don’t be passive when trying to learn how to become a sponsored athlete. While there is a chance you might get contacted by a company, you shouldn’t assume that this will happen to everyone. Instead, you need to reach out to companies near you to figure out if they are looking for sports-persons to sponsor. Often, they will be quite friendly and describe how you can obtain sponsorship.

They may even know who you are and have interest in signing you up. Of course, these companies may also be clueless about you and have no interest at all. Don’t get frustrated if a company refuses to sponsor you. You’re probably not going to get sponsored the first time you try. Persistence and patience will pay off, and you’ll eventually find somebody willing to help.

6. Narrow down Your Search

If you’re not having much luck when reaching out to people for a parkour sponsorship, try to narrow down your focus. Applying to every company you can find is usually a recipe for disaster. That’s because your personality and parkour style may not appeal to them. Beyond that, you simply may not enjoy their corporate environment.

When learning how to become a sponsored athlete, make sure that you narrow your focus down to companies that you think meet your moral and ethical standards. You should also research the corporate atmosphere of a company to learn more about how they operate. In this way, you can get a better understanding of what they want and how you can meet those demands.

7. Know What You Want from a Sponsorship

Lastly, it is important to fully understand what you want from a sponsorship before applying for one. For example, you may want just running shoes or some shorts. Understand that you’re not likely to get everything that a company provides and may only receive a certain number of items.

A parkour sponsorship isn’t necessarily life-changing. However, it is beneficial if you struggle to afford parkour gear. , Therefore, identify what you want from a company and find one that will provide these items for you.

Final Thoughts

If you are interested in learning how to become a sponsored athlete in parkour, these steps should help you achieve that goal. Make sure to tweak them as necessary to ensure that you get the best possible experience. For example, you may want to start networking before competing to get early help with your skills.

1. Find out What Red Bull Wants

Learning how to get sponsored by Red Bull requires taking into account their needs. You’ll also stay ahead of the game as long as you discover what they want when they consider sponsoring an athlete. One thing that they look for in parkour is somebody who uniquely leads this type of sport. You don’t have to be a champion or the most technically accomplished to get this goal.

Instead, you should be someone who brings something new to the table. You’ll also want to make sure you are exciting and fun to watch. You should also be somebody who is friendly and sociable, as Red Bull loves presenting an edgy, but palatable brand.

It is also important to enjoy their products. Drinking Red Bull is a big deal for them and, if you don’t enjoy it, don’t bother trying out.

2. Compete in Regular Parkour Events

It might seem obvious to say it, but competing in parkour events is one of the best ways to master how to get sponsored by Red Bull. If you aren’t there showing off your stuff, their talent scouts will never see you. And that’s a big deal with Red Bull. They keep their eyes on many parkour events and are always looking for the best of the best.

Don’t get stressed out at every competition, though. Avoid adopting a mindset obsessed with winning to get a sponsorship. Red Bull isn’t always looking for champions. On the contrary, the company prefers athletes who are just starting their career.

They consider themselves expert talent scouts and are trying to foster new and original styles. Therefore, if you biff it during a competition trying to do something impressive, Red Bull may take notice of your ambition, not your failure.

3. Get on Social Media Now

Few companies are as social-media friendly as Red Bull. They maintain a constant presence on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and even Snapchat. This way, they can reach out to a large number of potential athletes and offer sponsorship opportunities. Just as importantly, you can stand out and create a profile that catches their eye.

Try to integrate cool photos of yourself competing or even videos of some of your best stunts. It’s not a bad idea to interact with Red Bull’s social media profiles occasionally to get your name on the tip of their tongues. You don’t want to come across like a brown nose, though, because they’ll notice this right away and may avoid you. Instead, show that you genuinely love the brand.

4. Make a Routine That Is as Creative as Possible

silhouette of fit man jumping between two buildings

A high-quality parkour routine is one of the best ways to learn how to get sponsored by Red Bull. As mentioned previously, they want somebody who is creative and who adds something new to their brand. Just as crucially, they want someone known in public for their creative and wild parkour stunts. Social media can help spread your name even further here. At the core a good parkour routine stands rough discipline with numerous exercises to improve balance, strength, flexibility, and other skills.

However, networking is also essential here. A creative routine is nothing without an imaginative grasp on proper social networking. Make sure that you talk to as many parkour athletes as possible to learn more about Red Bull sponsorship chances. You should also start networking with the people holding the competitions and ask them about any social situations, such as volunteering, you can do to make your name known.

5. Be a Positive Force

Red Bull is all about making a difference in a community. Therefore, they expect their athletes to be on the same page. As a result, it is a good idea to volunteer in your town whenever possible. Try to find charities in need that want to draw attention. These institutions could really benefit from your unique skills. You can also volunteer to entertain children at a hospital by showcasing your sweet parkour tricks.

Don’t be vocal or flashy about these charity events. Instead, try to find ones that you know other parkour athletes are attending. Creating an image as someone who helps others will impress Red Bull and increase your chances of success. Most importantly, make sure that you volunteer for the good of the community and not just your career.

6. Take a Chance and Apply

There is a small, but possible, chance that Red Bull may contact you and offer you a sponsorship. However, people who wait around for that to happen are more likely to get disappointed. Contacting Red Bull about sponsorship possibilities is always a good idea after you’ve made an impression on the parkour community.

They will discuss how you can apply and provide you with the information you need to create a practical application. You can fill it out with events you’ve competed in, championships you won, how long you’ve contested, and other activities (such as charity) you’ve done. Send it in and wait for the good news. However, don’t get too excited because you also need to…

7. Be Prepared for Refusals

One of the most important elements of learning how to get sponsored by Red Bull is realizing that they are going to say no to you. In fact, very few athletes are accepted by Red Bull on the first, second, or even third attempt to get a sponsorship. That isn’t a big deal because there are always reasons that they won’t accept you. Most of the times, they will tell you the reasons for turning you down.

As a result, you can get back out there and start making a bigger name for yourself. Start hitting up your social media profiles and going to more competitions. Practice your skills, expand your routine, and get more creative. Just as importantly, openly enjoy chugging Red Bull and make sure that known scouts see you competing. This way, you can finally break through their reticence and get the sponsorship you deserve.

The Takeaway

Understand that few people ever master how to get sponsored by Red Bull. In fact, while Red Bull does sponsor a large number of athletes, they often only choose the best. That’s why it is critical to take the time to become a master at parkour. In this way, you are more likely to learn how to get sponsored by Red Bull and get the gear you need to succeed.

How to Create Your Parkour Equipment for Home Use out of Pipes

Parkour equipment for home is often a little too pricey for many people to afford. Unfortunately, this may limit some practitioners of this sport to practicing in areas where they might not feel comfortable. However, it is possible to make parkour equipment for home use out of inexpensive pipes. Just about anybody should be able to handle this simple construction method.

As a result, it is worth learning more about how to make parkour equipment for home use out of pipes. This article will give you an in-depth look at what kind of tubes to purchase and how to make your parkour equipment for home use safely. You’ll also see the techniques you’ll need to master to ensure that your home practice area is fun and enjoyable to use.

1. Carefully Choose Your Materials

The first step in building parkour equipment for home use is making sure you choose the right kinds of materials. For example, you need to make sure you choose pipes that are thick enough to support your weight and which will avoid damage for years to come. Typically, you want to choose pipes that are at least size six to ensure that it remains strong and resilient.

Pipe Sizes and Brands

However, you shouldn’t just choose pipes that are too large. That’s because more full pipes may be harder to grip or may be more difficult to fit under your feet. Again, size six pipes are probably your best bet here. That said, it is also a good idea to alternate the different pipe sizes to make it easier for you to climb the surface of your parkour equipment for home use.

Typically, you’re going to want larger pipes at the base to help weight it down and keep it more stable. For example, size seven and size eight pipes are great for corner and base areas because they are thick and robust. Focus these pipes on these areas to keep your parkour equipment for home use sturdy. Make sure to join them together with a single-socket tee and tighten them carefully to avoid stripping it out. You’ll use size six pipe for the majority of your structure.

You should also try to buy Schedule 80 pipe rather than anything weaker. This type of tube is typically among the strongest and easiest to use when building parkour equipment for home use. It can be adjusted and adapted in a multitude of ways to make it stronger. Now that you have a pretty good selection of pipes, you can start putting them together.

2. Start Your Basic Design

Joining your pipes together will require the use of tools such as the single-swivel socket, a 30-60 degree single-socket tee, and a 45-degree single-socket tee. You will be attaching them by placing the ends of the pipes into connectors and tightening the connection screws. Make sure that you start by drawing your parkour equipment for home use project down on construction paper.

Draw a Blueprint

Try to keep your design in scale when drawing a diagram. Make sure to include the base area, the spots where you will climb, and any jumping spots that you are going to integrate. You should also make sure to start at the bottom of the base and then work your way up. You should also make sure to add various triangles to your design to ensure that it stays strong.

Incorporate Triangles

Triangles are the secret design weapon when creating parkour equipment for home use out of pipes. These triangles help to increase the support strength of your equipment and provide it with more stability. That’s because the triangle is one of the most durable and most evenly-supported shapes in geometry. Use triangles throughout the base and the corners to increase its strength.

Pay particular attention to the base areas to ensure that it is sturdy and will support your gaming. It should be wider than your planned parkour practice area to avoid tipping. Try to work your design inward to keep the weight central to a specific area. Just think of the design of those metal playground domes to get a feel for how you can create this practice area.

3. Proceed to the Building Part

person hanging from pipe playground equipment outdoors

Once you have your base designed and built, it’s usually pretty easy to continue crafting your parkour equipment for home use. Try to include areas where you can hang, climb, jump, and alternate between hand and leg use. Obstacles can include tight areas that require squeezing and other interesting spots that are tough to navigate.

Remember to keep the weight of your parkour equipment for home use in mind while building. You want to avoid creating an obstacle course that is too heavy to move smoothly. Minimizing the number of connecting pipes is crucial for this step. Try out a few streamlined designs to keep you parkour equipment for home use light.

4. Mounting Your Parkour Equipment for Home Use

After you finish building your parkour equipment for home use, you need to mount it down. This step can include using a flange, standard railing flange, or adjustable angle base flange to attach it to the ground. This step requires carefully weighing the structure down to ensure it doesn’t flip or tip while you are on it.

Attaching it to a wall is often a good idea because it keeps it from tipping too far to one side. However, this step can be challenging if you have built your parkour equipment for home use away from your house. You can attach it to a garage or another strong structure if you don’t want it positioned too near a common living area.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, building your own parkour equipment for home use is not as tough as you might imagine. While it’s not something you should do without the proper skills and a little preparation, just about anybody should be able to build parkour equipment for home use out of pipes.

If you have any experience with this process or know another way to make parkour equipment for home use, please don’t hesitate to drop us a line as soon as possible. We always love hearing from our readers and know that many of you have probably created impressive and useful parkour equipment for home use in your own yard.

8 Proven Ways to Jump Higher and Escape Gravity

If you are an athlete looking for ways to jump higher than normal, there are many possible options you can take to reach that goal. There are dozens of ways to jump higher that professionals and amateurs alike use every day. We have broken down some of the best and most tested ways of improving your vertical.

These methods work by improving your strength and helping you master the mechanics behind jumping. Each should be practiced by those who are looking for ways to jump higher that they can perform at the moment. They are rated according to their simplicity and effectiveness. Without further ado, try out the first step on our list and move down as your vertical starts increasing.

1. Practice Your Jumping

It might seem almost too simple to discuss, but one of the best ways to jump higher is to practice your jumping form and mechanics every day. That’s because you can master the challenging mechanics of leaping and perform them more accurately.

Regularly practicing your form can help you take off more quickly, improve your leg strength, and give you the kind of lift that you need for an incredible jump height. Make sure that you don’t strain yourself by taking occasional breaks during your practice.

2. Jump Rope Every Day

Another of the best ways to jump higher is to skip rope for at least half an hour or more almost every day. This activity will increase your leg strength and focus your concentration on your leg movements.

As a result, you will be more mindful of how your body creates lift when you jump. Try to work up to double and triple jumps to increase your speed and increase your jumping height. You can also do alternate skipping patterns to boost your skills even further.

3. Squats

This simple exercise improves your overall strength in a variety of remarkable ways. For example, it will work your leg muscles, improve your core strength, and even tone your abs. Those who are looking for ways to jump higher should do at least 30-50 squats every day.

Break this exercise up into several even rep periods throughout the day to avoid exhaustion. You should be able to do this many squats in a day without suffering from pain or cramps.

4. Bulgarian Split Squats

Expand your normal squat routine by doing this difficult split routine. It requires focusing on one leg at a time to increase their strength.

The initial form is a normal standing position. However, one of your legs should not be on the ground anymore. Instead, you will position it backward onto a bench. When you go down in a squat position, you will need a lot more force on your active leg. At the same time, you will need to find your balance.

This method is one of the best ways to jump higher because it forces you to work hard-to-reach muscles. In this way, you can expand your jumping abilities almost overnight. Make sure to have a chair or a wall to hold onto while you perform this exercise to avoid falling over.

5. Plyometrics

fit woman in sports wear at gym doing box jump

If you’ve never heard of this fancy-sounding term, you need to understand it more fully and practice it to improve your jump height. Plyometric exercises help to build incredible strength in your legs and provide you with a stronger vertical leap.

Studies have found that plyometric routines like squat jumps, vertical reaches, ankle hops, and broad jumps can increase your lift by as much as 10 percent. That’s one reason why professional basketball players use these exercises in the off-season.

6. Dumbbell or Kettlebell Swings

While many of the ways to jump higher we are discussing focus on your legs, kettlebell swings help build up your shoulder muscles. However, they also work the hamstrings, glutes, and various muscles in your back. You may not realize it at first, but all of these muscles are very important for jumping.

Doing several kettlebell swing reps throughout the day can help increase your jumping height and make you a better athlete. Perform these swings at least three or four times a week to increase their effectiveness.

7. Regular Stretching and Flexibility Routines

One of the more subtle, but effective, ways to jump higher is performing simple stretching and flexibility routines. It might not seem obvious, but stretching your body helps to improve your jump by increasing your muscle flexibility. By boosting your flexibility, you are making it easier to jump higher into the air.

You are also making it simpler to land successfully without injury. Beyond that, you are also increasing your muscle strength and making them more adaptable to a variety of situations. There are several types of routines that you can perform to increase your jump. We suggest:

  • Hip flexors.
  • Hamstring stretches.
  • Calve muscle rotations.
  • Quad-strengthening routines.
  • Ab stretches.

Integrate these simple steps into your daily exercises to jump higher and beat gravity. They are often best used for a warm-up for more difficult routines or a cool-off method after working too hard. Make sure to stretch your shoulders and neck, as well, to avoid stiffness throughout your body.

8. Electrostimulation

cropped person doing exercises indoors while electrostymulated through wires

If you can afford a personal electrostimulation or EMS machine, it is one of the best ways to jump higher. It falls low on our list because it requires specialized equipment that may be out of the price range of some of our readers. That makes it less useful than simply working on your jumping form at home.

However, applying it to the muscles of your leg and using it regularly has been scientifically-proven to increase your dexterity. Studies have shown that pairing it with other forms of jump training can boost your lift by as much as 21 percent. Make sure to talk to your doctor about this technique before trying it.

In Conclusion

As you can see, there are many ways to jump higher. Each of them can effectively improve your leaps and beat gravity for a few precious moments. Most don’t require any specialized skills to perform and can be done in the comfort of your home. However, you should talk to a doctor about these methods before performing them. In this way, you can be sure you don’t injure yourself.

If you have any experience performing these routines, don’t hesitate to let us know. We are always looking to share ways to jump higher that we may have missed. Make sure that you post this article online to help your friends and family members find ways to improve their parkour hobby.

Find Out How to Stop Soreness After Your Parkour Sessions

Parkour is an exciting sport that propels people like you to higher levels of competitiveness. However, it is essential to know how to stop soreness after practicing or competing. That’s because the unique demands of this sport can cause your body to feel somewhat sore and stiff.

However, if you master the tips below, you will know how to stop soreness before, during, and after your routines. Even better, you can teach your parkour partners how to keep pain at bay when they compete, thereby making them more efficient and competitive parkour players.

1. Stay Hydrated

Hydration is probably the most important step when trying to master how to stop soreness after parkour. You are going to be working your body heavily during these routines. As a result, your body will need a lot of water to stay healthy. It also helps provide you with the sweat you need to stay cool while working out.

The 8-12 glasses rule is usually pretty accurate when mastering how to stop soreness. Another good rule of thumb is drinking one ounce of water per two pounds of body weight. Make sure that you drink water before, during, and after your routines.

2. Always Warm up before Practicing

Taking the time to stretch your body fully is essential to stay effective during intense training. Just think of all the muscles you use during a normal routine. There’s a good chance you use your ankles when landing and jumping, your knees to stay stable, and your arms for spins.

A full-body stretching routine is crucial before you start. Also, make sure to do squats and lift a few weights before competing. This action helps your muscles loosen up and get ready for work. Make sure that you also perform a few cool-down exercises to bring your body back to a healthy state.

3. Eat a Healthy Meal

healthy meal with grilled chicken breast, half a lemon, vegetables as a side

Anyone who is physically active must eat healthy meals before they exercise. This method is one of the best ways to learn how to stop soreness. Eat plenty of high-quality proteins, such as lean chicken and soybeans, to give your body the energy it needs to exercise. Make sure you also eat high-fiber foods to improve your metabolism.

Try to avoid performing any parkour immediately after eating. Wait at least 30-60 minutes for your food to digest a little. The intensity of parkour can sometimes cause the stomach to lurch. It may even lead to some embarrassing situations such as vomiting. You can avoid that faux pas by letting your food settle.

4. Start Your Routine Slowly

Parkour is just as much an art as it is an exercise. As a result, it is important to plan your routines in a way that gradually increases the intensity. There are a few reasons to take these steps. First of all, it will help make your routine look cooler and make it easier to perform. Rocketing out of the gate too quickly gives you nowhere else to go with your performance.

However, managing your intensity in this way can also help you master how to avoid soreness. A routine that gradually increases in intensity stimulates your muscles without overworking them. Whenever you are starting to feel too exhausted, stop. Pushing yourself too much will only increase your soreness. In this way, your body will slowly get acclimated to the demands of more demanding routines and feel less sore.

5. Consider Massage Therapy

If you are having a hard time figuring out how to stop soreness after your parkour routines, you should consider getting massage therapy for your muscles. The gentle vibrations of this therapeutic method will help relax your muscles and avoid tightness. It will also stimulate a healing flow of positive hormones through your body.

As a result, your body will go into healing mode more quickly. This action helps to prevent excessive soreness by allowing you to recover more rapidly. Even better, it can open you up to more involved routines later by eliminating severe pain and tension between performance days.

Find a professional masseuse who is willing to work your muscles just after you finish a parkour performance. For instance, you can inquire about the massage salon near the place where you usually practice parkour.

6. Relax in a Salt Bath

bath products as in salt bombs on wooden plate

A high-quality salt bath is one of the best ways to beat soreness. That’s because a hot salt bath helps to relieve tension in your muscles and avoid serious pain. It can also decrease inflammation and promote a healthier healing cycle for your body. Some of the best parkour players in the world use this method to manage their daily soreness.

You don’t need to perform this activity every time that you start any parkour routine. This technique is best utilized if you feel sore after a routine and need quick relief.

Soaking for just 30 minutes in a hot salt bath is all that you’ll need to relieve the aches and pains associated with parkour. Make sure to buy medical salt to improve the effectiveness of this technique further.

7. Take Time off from Your Routines

If you still feel sore even after performing many of these maintenance tips, it might be time to take a break from parkour. In fact, it is one of the best ways to master how to stop soreness. That’s because your body is being overworked and can’t keep up with the demands of the sport. It needs a break to recover from all of your jumps, spins, and performance methods.

You don’t have to say farewell to your favorite hobby though. A couple of days per month will do.

Rest is also a great idea. It helps your muscles grow stronger than they were before you started parkour. If you are continually tearing your muscles with daily parkour practice, they never have the chance to become stronger. Try to take a least one or two rest days every week to avoid severe pain. In some instances, three days may be necessary if you just can’t shake your sore muscles.

In Conclusion

As you can see, it is important to know how to stop soreness after competing in parkour. These simple steps can provide you with the care and recovery ability you need to be happy and healthy. Even better, they are simple to execute and require very little special ability.

If you want to know more about how to stop soreness or have tips that you think we missed, please comment below. We love to hear from our intelligent and informed readers. Just as importantly, make sure to share this article with others who want to know how to stop soreness from impacting their parkour techniques.

7 Best Parkour Clothing Brands to Suit Up for Your Passion

There are many parkour clothing brands that you can choose for your sporting needs. As a result, it can be hard to find one that suits your unique performance style. Parkour is all about small changes and tweaks to accepted routines and stringing them together in a fun, fast-paced, and exciting way. This fact means you need clothes that are comfortable, somewhat loose, and durable.

In this article, you will learn about the 7 best parkour clothing brands on the planet. Each of these brands has something unique to offer parkour enthusiasts like you. They are rated based on the number of clothing types available and the quality of their artistry. While you can’t go wrong with any of these brands, the best overall label is at the top of our list.

1. Take Flight

Take Flight is probably the best of the parkour clothing brands we investigated. Beyond shoes, they also provide socks, laces, t-shirts, training pants, sweatshirts, long-sleeve shirts, tank tops, backpacks, and much more. They have been working for over a decade to create tough and reliable parkour clothing that works for many different training situations.

Their success has made them one of the easiest-to-find parkour clothing brands on our list. While you can always buy from them online, you are more likely to find their clothes in sports shops in your town. One downside to this company is their cost. Buying from them implies investing a larger budget in your parkour gear than you would in other companies. That said, the quality of their clothing is hard to beat.

2. Farang Clothing

Farang Clothing is a group of free runners producing high-quality clothing for parkour. They are one of the most lauded parkour clothing brands as they integrate various design concepts from around the world. Beyond that, they are focused on creating parkour clothing designed by those who understand the needs of the average freerunner.

Products on their line include ponchos, sweaters, harem pants, long-sleeve shirts, snapback shirts, and much more. The comfort and fit of each of these pieces of clothing make them among the top in the nation. Their prices are a little lower than Take Flight, too. This makes them them a good choice if you don’t have a lot of money to spend.

3. JIYO

JiYo is a combination of two words that mean “Freedom” and “Use for yourself.” They are focused in Denmark and are considered one of the best European-based parkour clothing brands in the world. Those concerned about the environment often choose JiYo because they donate one percent of their annual sales to environmental organizations around the world.

Their unique sense of balance and comfort also makes them an excellent choice for the freerunner. Like Take Flight and Farang, they produce shoes, t-shirts, sweatpants, and more. In fact, there isn’t much that puts them below the top two parkour clothing brands on our list.

4. Krap

Don’t let the snicker-inducing name scare you away from this manufacturer. Krap formed in 2013 to create high-quality parkour events, competitions, and clothing. They are a completely self-financed company, which means they lack a lot of the problematic behaviors you see in larger corporations. And the fact that they are based out of Italy should tell you something about the sterling quality and design of their clothing.

The only reason they don’t go higher on our list is linked to the difficulties the average person may have when trying to buy their clothing. Yes, the quality of their shirts, shoes, and pants is spotless. However, the price is also pretty steep and may require expensive import shipping costs that can be difficult to afford. Those problems are a shame since Krap is anything but what their name suggests.

5. Norml Brand

Norml Brand is, like many parkour clothing brands, staffed primarily with freerunners. As a result, they provide a broad range of high-quality clothing. Even better, they hold regular competitions and running workshops that help parkour fans like you get even more skilled at your favorite sport.

Their clothing is also reasonably priced and includes hats, shirts, hoodies, track pants, harem pants, shorts, and more. They aren’t higher on our list because the durability of their clothes is slightly below other manufacturers out there. Despite all these, they are still a worthwhile choice for those who want parkour clothes that don’t cost an arm and a leg.

6. Storror

Next to last on our list of parkour clothing brands is Storror. This group is similar to Brewman because it consists mostly of parkour athletes. They are also well-known for their performance videos, such as “Roof Culture Asia.” These videos showcase skilled parkour professionals running, leaping, and performing on various roofs across the Asian continent.

Their clothing options are diverse including shoes, sweatpants, cargo pants, windbreakers, hoodies, training t-shirts, long-fit t-shirts, and more. They aren’t higher on our list because they lack options for women performers. While they argue their clothing is unisex, the choice for female clothing would be nice.

No products found.

7. Brewman

Brewman is an English group that focuses on 10 parkour athletes. They are one of the newer parkour clothing brands as they’ve just started out making training and travel videos. As a result, their brand is currently more limited than many of the other companies on this list. Therefore, they fall pretty low on our overall listing.

However, their Compass Shirt is a robust and reliable parkour shirt that breathes easily. As a result, you are more likely to be very comfortable while performing routines. When and if Brewman expands to produce a broader range of products, we think that they will climb up this list quickly.

In Conclusion

By now, you should have an idea of what parkour clothing brands are right for you. Many people will gun for the top-ranked entry Take Flight because of their diverse range of options. However, others may want to support Brewman because they are so new and promising. The choice all depends on what you think is right for you.

If you have any experience with these parkour clothing brands, don’t hesitate to drop a line in our comment section. We always like hearing from our readers and appreciate your input. And if you have an idea of other parkour clothing brands that we should highlight, let us know.

1. Understand the Form of Your Roll

A parkour roll is not the same as a gymnastic roll. It is a somewhat asymmetrical roll that keeps your body tight, snug, and comfortable while you roll. If you are familiar with gymnastics techniques, think of this move as a shoulder roll.

That’s because you’ll be rolling on your shoulder, tucking in your neck, keeping your feet tight to your body, and using your arms to control your movement. When mastering how to parkour roll, you should watch several videos and go through these motions slowly on a comfortable mat.

2. Master These Movements

Once you have a feel for the form of your roll, use these movements to perform it effectively:

  • Squat low on the ground.
  • Pull your arms to one side of your body.
  • Put your hands on the ground in a diamond position.
  • Drop the shoulder opposite your hands to the ground.
  • Carefully tuck your chin up towards the other armpit.
  • Push up with your feet and roll along the line created by your forward shoulder and the other hip.
  • Tuck your back foot under your butt as a guide for standing later.
  • Keep your front leg somewhat extended for better control.
  • Shift up to stand on your feet.

3. Pay Attention to Your Body’s Movements

Injuring your shoulders, spine, elbow, knees or heels is possible if you aren’t careful with your roll. Remember that a good parkour roll should be tight, controlled, and simple. That’s why you are tucking in your chin when you learn how to parkour roll. This action helps to protect your spine and neck from serious injury.

It also helps transfer weight from your neck and back to your shoulder. However, your shoulder should just briefly graze the ground as the impact moves from here down to your back. As you turn, you should keep your arms in a diagonal position across your body. Make sure you also keep your knees tucked close to your chest to avoid injury.

4. Practice Other Variations

There are four different types of movements you can master when learning how to parkour roll. These include the front roll, the side roll, the backward roll, and the dive roll. Each of these movements is slightly different. For example, the side roll requires holding your arms straight and rolling to the side. The backward roll is a reversed front roll, and the dive roll is a front roll done from the air.

Many of these variations can be mastered by using your arms correctly. For example, swinging your arms to the side will increase your side roll momentum. And throwing them forward or backward will improve your movement in these directions. Don’t forget that you can also change the angle of your roll in this way. Experiment with these techniques after mastering the forward roll to expand your capabilities.

5. Stay as Curved as Possible

When mastering how to parkour roll, you need to keep your legs in a small and tight arc. This action helps to keep your momentum in your roll. It also makes it easier to stand up later. And don’t use your legs to control your movement, as this can make it impossible for you to stand up. In fact, your legs are nearly dead weight in this move until you stand.

6. Keep the Impact off of Your Feeta man doing the frog squat position

When you start practicing how to parkour roll on harder surfaces, you need to make sure you are not absorbing the impact of your jump on your feet. That’s because you will cause strain on your knees and possibly injure yourself. Instead, you need to lightly touch the ground with your legs and pivot forward after landing.

After you pivot, you should move directly to your shoulder to complete your roll. This move and shoulder transition will take some time to master. Don’t transition to concrete or even grass rolls until you can ace this move on a mat.

7. Don’t Stay Symmetrical with Your Roll

After you’ve got the basic moves of this technique down, it is important to think about how you can transition out of your roll and into others. The best way to keep yourself open here is to avoid symmetry with your rolls. In fact, a good parkour roll should always be a little asymmetrical. This helps to avoid putting too much pressure on one part of your body.

It also helps make it easier for you to jump to a specific side when mastering how to parkour roll. It doesn’t matter which side you emphasize when doing an asymmetrical parkour roll. However, make sure that you’ve carefully considered the moves that follow your roll so that you can string together a routine that will impress.

Final Word

As you can see, learning how to parkour roll takes some time, a little bit of effort, and a lot of body control. If you have mastered other parkour techniques in the past, these should come to you relatively quickly. However, you still should practice how to parkour roll on a soft mat before ever trying it in a real situation.
